George Bass and Matthew Flinders sailed past the cliffs where the Clifton School of Arts stands 220 years ago, in the small boat Tom Thumb II. Christine Hill’s book The Journey of Tom Thumb II describes this voyage of exploration, and the original paintings depicting their adventures will be on display and for sale this week.
